Shoe Trend: Oxfords

Here is an interesting article from New York Magazine: Oxford Bound

I'm curious to know what everyone thinks about oxfords for women! I feel like only a few ladies out there might be able to pull these off. What do you think? If you love them here are some good finds:

John Fluevog at ShopStyle
John Fluevog 'Radio AM' Oxfords on sale for $123 from $224 @ Endless

melissa at ShopStyle
Melissa Joy & Alexandre Herchcovitch for $100 @Saks Fifth Avenue

They are definitely a change from your basic ballet flat, but I'm just not sure how I feel about them yet. Let me know what you all think!

Berry Berry Good

One of the hot color pallets for fall consists of deep Purple, Pink, and Red hues. Those are what I would call Berry Colors! Here are a few of my favorite Berry shoes (Click on the picture to go straight to the Zappos):

Michael Kors at ShopStyle
Michael Kors 'Azurette' on sale for $216 from $424 @ Zappos

Look at that Ostrich print! The shoe is so chic and the purple color is a great way to spice up your office wardrobe!

Jessica Simpson at ShopStyle
Jessica Simpson 'Esis' for $68.15 @ Zappos

A girl can never have too many patent flats! The deep raspberry is gorgeous and you could definitely pair these with your favorite black skinny jeans for a night out on the town.

Michael Kors at ShopStyle
Michael Kors 'Berkley T Straps' for $133 @ Zappos

Can you say LBD? These would look so great with a little black dress for a date night with your significant other- WOW! Edgy, Sleek, and Berry all in one.

Outlet Shopping

Who doesn't love outlet shopping? Of course I love a great deal and when I find myself near the outlets, I take full advantage. The Gilroy Premium Outlets are by far my favorite outlets in California. Here is a pic from the Saks 5th Avenue Outlet, Off the 5th:

Lamb Shoes @ Off the 5th

So many beautiful shoes! They had Jimmy Choo too! The Off the 5th and J.crew outlets in Gilroy are the best I've ever seen. If I wasn't saving up for the 'Rae', I would've definitely indulged in these beauties. Here are some other great outlets:

Desert Hills Premium Outlets, Cabazon (California)

Camarillo Premium Outlets, Camarillo (California)

Chelsea Premium Outlets, Nationwide

Happy Shopping!!

And the results are in:

How much are you willing to spend on a pair of shoes:

5% said $25-50

32% said $50-100

38% said $100-200

25% said $200+

I'm surprised that over 50% said above $100, but it makes me happy to know that my vote was part of the majority! Thank you to everyone who participated. Look for a new poll next week!

And they're back...

J.Crew Patent Ballet Flats:

Sally Pearlized Patent Ballet Flats for $125 @ J. Crew

I've been waiting for these babies since last winter. (I have one pair already and I'm in LOVE!)The pearlized ballet flats are extremely comfortable and are great fall go-to shoes. Even better, they are almost totally water proof and dirt wipes off with a paper towel. AMAZING!

Kelsey Crackle-Metallic Ballet Flats for $125 @ J. Crew

Here is a spiced-up version of the basic ballet flat;I'm hearting these as well! Don't worry- they WILL BOTH go on sale and I will be the first to let you know.

Old Navy is pretty hit and miss most of the time, but these are super cute and only $15:

Old Navy at ShopStyle

They are simple but the braid adds a cute twist. I'm hearting the color selections- something for everyone! Best part of all: $15!!! (Click on the pic to go directly to Old Navy)

Did you know?

According to Instyle Magazine, High Heels brought in $5 billion last year! Here is the breakdownby heel height:

* 3 inches and above brought in 1.5 billion

* 2 inches brought in 1.6 billion

* 1 inch brought in 1 billion

* 1/2 inch and below brought in 986 million

And men laugh at our obsession with heels! It’s our obsession that’s keeping the economy from getting any worse… thank you very much!

In Pursuit of another fun fact to justify my (our) never ending love of shoes,

Branching Out...

Most of my shoes are very feminine and classic- have some sort of bow (LOVE bows), a peep toe, or a high thin heel. Needless to say, when this whole edgy-gladiator-sandal-heel craze happened it took a little bit of getting used, but now I’m in love. These are what made me fall head over heels:

Giuseppe Zanotti at ShopStyle
Giuseppe Zanotti on sale for $476 from $649 @ Endless

There are a few sizes left @ Forward for $325 too!

The first time I saw them I knew I had to have them. The black and nude patent combo is dreamy and guess what... they have a zipper on the back!

Going to Beso for my Anniversary

You know those shoes that just make you feel like you can conquer the world when you put them on? That's these shoes! Love them!

In Pursuit of another pair of edgy and awesome pair of heels,

How much would you spend?

I’ve posted another poll on the right side bar: How much are you willing to spend on a pair of shoes?

Moschino Money Shoe

It’s always interesting to see how much a person will actually pay for a pair of shoes and I’m curious to see how you all feel. The poll will close Monday the 27th so VOTE VOTE VOTE!

Checkout this awesome banner advertisement for the store Shoegasm:

I've never been to the store, but I'm loving the name and the hott green stiletto in the picture. There are 3 Shoegasm stores in the NY area.  If you happen to be in NY, stop by and let me know if the shoes are visit worthy- I'm going to NY in October.

Bows, Bows, Bows

I have a small infatuation with bows and other pretty shoe embellishments:

Ashley's Bow Shoes

Okay, maybe “small infatuation” is an understatement! Bows are just so girly and fun and that’s why I heart them. Here are a pair I’ve had my eye on recently:

Free People at ShopStyle
Jeffrey Campbell 'PatryBow Flat' for $98 @ Free People

The “V” cut out side is sexy and the nude patent is gorgeous! They are a great summer to fall transition shoe.

In Pursuit of a unique pair of bow shoes to add to my collection,

Statement Shoes

Gotta love ‘em! I was inspired by Revolve Clothing’s Fancy Footwork article (Check it out for ideas on how to wear statement shoes). Statement Shoes are everywhere and they are here to stay. Here are two of my favs:

L.A.M.B. at ShopStyle

L.A.M.B 'Rae' Sandal for $325 @ Nordstrom

The oragami flower and contrasting color combination make this the perfect statement shoe. They've been on my "I hope it goes on sale" list for a couple of weeks now! (Keep your fingers crossed)

Gianna Meliani at ShopStyle

Gianna Meliana on Sale for $65 from $160 @ Yoox

Copper shoes- now that is a statement! They also remind me of these Lanvin shoes, but way cheaper...YAY! Loving the straps and the metallic color!

In Pursuit of another fantastic statement shoe and crossing my fingers that 'Rae' goes on sale,

July 13, 2009

Very Interesting...

Yes, very interesting indeed:
Valentino at ShopStyle
Valentino $745 @ Nordstrom

Paris Hilton $95 @ Heels

Christian Louboutin at ShopStyle
Christian Louboutin on Sale for $704 from $1,050 @ Bergdorf Goodman

Jessica Simpson at ShopStyle
Jessica Simpson for $80 @ Endless

Valentino is to Paris Hilton as Christian Louboutin is to Jessica Simpson. Not exactly, but WOW do they sure look alike! It amazes me how two shoes from two different designers can be so similar. Call it a knock-off if you will, but to some it’s a great deal! Whenever I see a “look for less” it makes me wonder: Why do we pay so much for a DESIGNER shoe, dress, handbag, etc? -especially when we don’t have the excess funds hanging around. There must be some psychological answer to this question, maybe some shoe purchasing research being done (sign me up please). Maybe it’s for the shoe quality, the mere thrill of buying a [insert large $ amount here] pair of shoes, or the fact that you can say you own a pair of Pradas. A shoe is a shoe- if you like it and it makes you happy then who cares how much it costs or what brand it is, right? What do you think? Do you tend to buy the “look for less” or save your money to buy big name designers?

In Pursuit of an answer to a maybe answerless shoe question,

Sale Time

Forward- Sale for Women has some incredible deals on Giuseppe Zanotti shoes. I love Guiseppe!

Steve Madden- Check out the 50% off sale for fun summer sandals.

Nordstrom- Anniversary Sale starts July 17th in stores and online. I took a look at the Anniversary Catalog and there are some great fall boots and flats that will be on sale!

Happy Shopping,

And the results are in...

33% 10-25 pairs
33% 25-50 pairs
25% 50-100 pairs
8% 100+ pairs

Thank you to everyone who voted. With 76 pairs of shoes, I’m glad to see I’m not the only shoe obsessed person out there. I applaud those with 100+! At the rate I’m going I will be there soon enough and I can't wait! Here is a picture of my shoe closet:

I try to put my shoes in color order... I know I'm crazy, but it just keeps them more organized. My fancier shoes stay in the shoe boxes to the left because I don't want them to get all dusty. Do you have a specific way that you organize your shoes? I'd love to hear about them and if you have an awesome shoe closet please send me pictures and I will feature them in a future post!

Eva Longoria

In anticipation of Monday’s shoe poll results and pictures of my shoe closet, I thought I would post one of my favorite celebrity shoe closets- Eva Longoria. I think Eva has a great sense of style and I’m never dissapointed with her classic and gorgeous shoe choices. Here is a picture of her shoe closet and two of my favorite pairs of shoes:

One day my closet will be as pretty as hers!

Emerald Satin Pumps by Rickard Shah

Red Ava Peep Toe by Hollywould

I’m drooling over the color of the Rickard Shah heels. The design is simple, the heel is sexy, and the POP of color is stunning. I WANT! The Hollywould heels have a bow in the back, need I say more? I have a never ending love for bows and I think it will be very apparent when you see my shoe closet on Monday.

In Pursuit of another Eva favorite,

I don't do tennis shoes...

But if I did I would wear these:

Converse at ShopStyle

Jack Purcell for $50 @ Piperlime

In my eyes tennis shoes are only for working out or for days when you know you will be walking FOREVER. There are just too many pretty shoes out there to wear tennis shoes every day. That being said, if I did have to pick a pair of tennis shoes to wear everyday, I would rock the Jack Purcell’s. They are a grown-up version of your old Converse (psst.. they are made by Converse) and that’s why I heart them. The shoe style is basic, they are a great price, comfortable, and they come in many different colors and fabrics. Also, they are unisex and I think guys look great in them too. (I could be biased because my bf has 3 pairs, but oh well!) Check out Nordstrom, J.Crew, and Martin + Osa for all the different styles ranging from $50-$75.

In Pursuit of another pair of tennis shoes….scratch that… in Pursuit of a gorgeous heel,

Go Nude!

Okay, not like that! I mean go nude with your shoes. Nude and light pink colored pumps are really hot right now. You have seen them everywhere on the red carpet and there is a reason for that: they are a perfect summer hue and bring out a lovely summer tan.

Jessica Simpson at ShopStyle
Jessica Simpson 'Vanity' only $48 @ Dillards
They are just right for work and on sale for almost half off! I love the patent and how low they dip before the point. I think it shows off the best part of the foot.

Chinese Laundry at ShopStyle
Chinese Laundry 'Love Me Sandal' for $79 @ Endless
Umm Hello... Does anyone remember these L.A.M.B Sandals? $298 even on sale.. hmm, I think I choose Chinese Laundry! It's a gorgeous shoe and the best part is- it has a zipper!

Theory at ShopStyle
Theory 'Mariel' on sale for $192 @ Shopbop
They are Rachel Zoe's Pick on Piperlime, but you get a better price at Shopbop :) I actually have these and they are SOO comfy. The heel is high but very sexy!

I'm loving so many more, but it would be the longest blog post ever if I showed you all of them. Not only will nude shoes compliment your summer bronze, but they make your legs look extra long and they go with any outfit. What more can you ask for?! Is Nude the new Black?

In Pursuit of my next favorite Nude Shoe,
