Spring is here, the weather is lovely, and it's time to bring some fun colors into your wardrobe! Here is a great way to mix bright spring hues and the shoe color of the season (nude) into a casual outfit. Also, below is reason #1 for why I'm officially not buying another pair of shoes until May (*Gasp* I know)!
Hey new shoes!
Shop this Look:
Women's Boyfriend Cardigan for $26 @ Old Navy
The bright coral color of the bf cardi is perfect for spring and summer. I am a HUGE fan of cardigans- have been for the past 4 or 5 years. They are a great way to add a little spice to jeans and a white tee. I am lucky enough to have a roomie with great style so I borrowed her Madewell cardigan for the day. I don't believe Madewell is making the cardi anymore (it's from last spring) but this Old Navy one is almost exactly the same and a steal for $26. I may have to buy one myself!
Ankle toothpick jean in twilight wash on sale for $100 from $125 @ J.Crew
My favorite skinny ankle jeans are on sale- hurray! I last wore these in my military post. When I wear light colored shoes I like to roll my dark denim because there is always a possibility that they might bleed on the shoe which is NOT FUN. Thank goodness cuffed denim is in right now!
Extended Basic Tank for $6.80 @ Forever 21
You gotta have basic white and black tanks because they are so easy to throw a cardi or jacket over! The one I'm wearing is from BP @ Nordstrom but apparently they don't sell it online. I bought it about 5 years ago and it was probably the best $18 I've ever spent. They come in 34590825 different colors and keep their shape wash after wash. Love them! Here is a similar Forever 21 tank... don't know how it holds up in the wash though!
Rebecca Minkoff Morning After bag (MAB) mini for $550 @ Neiman Marcus
I bought my MAB as a gift to myself when I passed the CPA exam. I really wanted a durable bag in a fun color and when I saw it I fell in love. At first I wasn't sure how much use I would get out of a teal bag, but I honestly carried it all last summer and just brought it out again for spring. It compliments everything! I'm not sure if they are still making the teal color but the bag still comes in a million different colors including black, blue, green, and red (above). Be careful to differentiate between the mini MAB and the regular size MAB. The regular size is significantly bigger. I think the mini is just right.
Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Modern' for $98 @ Bloomingdales
These were a Vegas impulse buy ( I think I was depressed about not finding shoes ) and I'm so happy I got them. I decided on the fuchsia pink rims because I already own black and brown sunglasses- thought I would switch it up a bit. Marc by Marc Jacobs is one of my favorite sunglass brands because he creates such unique styles and they are all under $100. Perfect for the budgeting fashionista. They also come in black, brown, and gold rims. **Bloomingdales has a 20% Friends & Family Discount right now (Code: FFMARCH) so you can get these for $78.**
And the shoes:
Tory Burch Kelton Sandals
Saved the best for last: my new Tory Burch Kelton Sandals. These are reason number #1 why I'm not going to buy another pair of shoes until May (see #2-#4 in future posts). I've purchased 4 pairs of shoes in two weeks...it is kind of ridiculous (and awesome). I found these at Nordstrom Rack and just had to get them. You know I can't pass up a good deal! The nude is perfect for spring & summer and the 'huarache' style is so fun. Tory always finds a way to show off the Tory Burch emblem and the gold detail on the back of these is glorious! They aren't available online except for a few pairs on ebay. I would definitely suggest hitting your nearest Nordstrom Rack or Loehmann's to see if they might have them too. Here are another pair of TB's that I'm loving right now as well:
Tory Burch 'Liv' Strappy Heel Sandal for $325 @ Bergdorf Goodman
Although they aren't nude, I do appreciate the cognac color. These would work well with the casual and colorful spring look too.
Necklace is from Forever21, bangles from J. Crew and my watch is Longines.
Happy Hump Day!
