For the Guys: So Fresh and So Clean

I'm really enjoying "clean" men's shoes for the warm L.A spring weather. They will be perfect for summer too! A crisp and light sneaker is great for a more put-together look...you can't always be in flip flops boys. Here are some good finds and they are all under $100:

Fred Perry at ShopStyle
Fred Perry Grey Coxson Canvas for $60 @ Urban Outfitters

Simple and breathable. A canvas sneaker will allow some air flow on those sweaty summer days + the gray color is a good neutral so you will get a lot of wear out of them.

Tretorn at ShopStyle
Tretorn Krona Linen for $71 @ Revolve Clothing

I like the navy trim detail around the shoe because it gives it a very polished look. Also, there is a really cool turquoise triangle detail in the back. These would be great with shorts and no socks (don't knock it 'till you try it).

Clae at ShopStyle
Clae Ellington for $95 @ Revolve Clothing

Clean doesn't necessarily mean white. "Nude" is so hot right now with women's shoes but I really like the idea of a light brown/nude sneaker for guys too. You can wear it with anything: denim, colored shorts, and khakis.

Designer Spotlight: Charlotte Olympia

I'm in LOVE! I know I know... I say that every other week about a new shoe or two but my new love isn't just for one shoe, but for all Charlotte Olympia Shoes! It all started when I saw this pic of SJP in a gorgeous green Lanvin dress. When I looked at her shoe choice, I saw a hint of exterior gold platform on a blush colored shoe and instantly went to shoe heaven:

Here is a close up:

Voila! So perfect!

Designer Deets: Charlotte Olympia Dellal launched her label Charlotte Olympia in 2006. Her designs have become "synonymous with classic shapes and meticulous attention to detail." Each shoe is finished with the brand's signature gold spider web on the sole and she is most known for her 'island' style platforms and intricate heel details. Read an interview with Charlotte on Vogue.com.

Her designs are extremely exclusive and can only be found on a few e-commerce sites and a handful of brick and mortar stores. See her website for the Store Finder.

Celeb Fans: Sarah Jessica Parker and Emma Watson

So feminine and sexy!

My true shoe style is feminine with a hint of funk. I love classic shapes, peep toes, and stiletto heels. Flower and bow details are on the top of my list too. I'm a true girly girl at heart and I think that's why I have fallen head over heels (pun intended) for Charlotte Olympia.

Her designs are so girly and unique. They truly are fantastically fun and magical! How can you not fall in love with those twisty heels and bright colors?! Shoe love at it's finest!

Adding Charlotte Olympia heels to the top of my shoe list!

Trend: Perforated Sandals

I've been noticing a  lot of perforated shoes latey. Jimmy Choo, Miu Miu and Prada all have perforated designs. Aldo also has a great look for less:

Prada at ShopStyle
Prada Perforated Sandal for $795 @ Barneys
(also available in black)

They kind of remind me of mesh shorts. Huate-Mesh ... why not!?! We (Hautelook) actually sold these on our DecadesTwo sale a couple weeks ago. I couldn't believe we had current season's shoes already! I think they were going for $345 which is an amazing deal.

Jimmy Choo at ShopStyle
Jimmy Choo 'Dexter' for $845 on Net-A-Porter

The dark fuchsia color is gorgeous. I like that there is just a hint of perforation. Simple yet stunning!

Aldo at ShopStyle
'Kerbow' for $100 @ Aldo
(Also available in nude at Aldo Stores)

These are a great look for less without being a total knock-off. I like that! The nude/blush color is really nice too.

Miu Miu at ShopStyle
Miu Miu Perforated Sandal for $604 @ Bluefly

Are you going to jump on the perforated shoe train?

Happy Monday!

Shop My Look: Spring has Sprung

Spring is here, the weather is lovely, and it's time to bring some fun colors into your wardrobe! Here is a great way to mix bright spring hues and the shoe color of the season (nude) into a casual outfit. Also, below is reason #1 for why I'm officially not buying another pair of shoes until May (*Gasp* I know)!

 Hey new shoes!

Shop this Look:

Old Navy at ShopStyle
Women's Boyfriend Cardigan for $26 @ Old Navy

The bright coral color of the bf cardi is perfect for spring and summer. I am a HUGE fan of cardigans- have been for the past 4 or 5 years. They are a great way to add a little spice to jeans and a white tee. I am lucky enough to have a roomie with great style so I borrowed her Madewell cardigan for the day. I don't believe Madewell is making the cardi anymore (it's from last spring) but this Old Navy one is almost exactly the same and a steal for $26. I may have to buy one myself!

J.Crew at ShopStyle
Ankle toothpick jean in twilight wash on sale for $100 from $125 @ J.Crew

My favorite skinny ankle jeans are on sale- hurray! I last wore these in my military post. When I wear light colored shoes I like to roll my dark denim because there is always a possibility that they might bleed on the shoe which is NOT FUN. Thank goodness cuffed denim is in right now!

Forever 21 at ShopStyle
Extended Basic Tank for $6.80 @ Forever 21

You gotta have basic white and black tanks because they are so easy to throw a cardi or jacket over! The one I'm wearing is from BP @ Nordstrom but apparently they don't sell it online. I bought it about 5 years ago and it was probably the best $18 I've ever spent. They come in 34590825 different colors and keep their shape wash after wash. Love them! Here is a similar Forever 21 tank... don't know how it holds up in the wash though!

Rebecca Minkoff at ShopStyle
Rebecca Minkoff Morning After bag (MAB) mini for $550 @ Neiman Marcus

I bought my MAB as a gift to myself when I passed the CPA exam. I really wanted a durable bag in a fun color and when I saw it I fell in love. At first I wasn't sure how much use I would get out of a teal bag, but I honestly carried it all last summer and just brought it out again for spring. It compliments everything! I'm not sure if they are still making the teal color but the bag still comes in a million different colors including black, blue, green, and red (above). Be careful to differentiate between the mini MAB and the regular size MAB. The regular size is significantly bigger. I think the mini is just right.

Marc by Marc Jacobs at ShopStyle
Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Modern' for $98 @ Bloomingdales

These were a Vegas impulse buy ( I think I was depressed about not finding shoes ) and I'm so happy I got them. I decided on the fuchsia pink rims because I already own black and brown sunglasses- thought I would switch it up a bit. Marc by Marc Jacobs is one of my favorite sunglass brands because he creates such unique styles and they are all under $100. Perfect for the budgeting fashionista. They also come in black, brown, and gold rims. **Bloomingdales has a 20% Friends & Family Discount right now (Code: FFMARCH) so you can get these for $78.**

 And the shoes:

 Tory Burch Kelton Sandals

Saved the best for last: my new Tory Burch Kelton Sandals. These are reason number #1 why I'm not going to buy another pair of shoes until May (see #2-#4 in future posts). I've purchased 4 pairs of shoes in two weeks...it is kind of ridiculous (and awesome).  I found these at Nordstrom Rack and just had to get them. You know I can't pass up a good deal! The nude is perfect for spring & summer and the 'huarache' style is so fun. Tory always finds a way to show off the Tory Burch emblem and the gold detail on the back of these is glorious! They aren't available online except for a few pairs on ebay. I would definitely suggest hitting your nearest Nordstrom Rack or Loehmann's to see if they might have them too. Here are another pair of TB's that I'm loving right now as well:

Tory Burch at ShopStyle
Tory Burch 'Liv' Strappy Heel Sandal for $325 @ Bergdorf Goodman

Although they aren't nude, I do appreciate the cognac color. These would work well with the casual and colorful spring look too.

Necklace is from Forever21, bangles from J. Crew and my watch is Longines

Happy Hump Day!

Vegas Shoe Love

Here are some shoe snapshots from Sin City:

I twitpiced these gorgeous Jimmy Choo's on Sunday. These are the 'Private' Cuffed Sandal. I Can't find the silver sparkle ones on the internet, but here is the black sparkle version.

Christian Louboutin Display @ either Neimans or Saks (it's all a blur)

Another shot of the Barney's HUGE metal caged shoe.

Manolo Blahnik Store @ the Wynn Shops

Paris Hilton Shoe Disaster

I'm not one to rag on shoes (except the crazy cork ones yesterday) but I was flabbergasted when I saw these Paris Hilton "designs" at Macy's Las Vegas:

Do they look familiar (see below)?

L.A.M.B. at ShopStyle
L.A.M.B. 'Zea' Booties

 L.A.M.B. Grommet

Absolute knock-offs! I get it, knock offs are everywhere and they are a way to offer high-end designs to the masses but COME ON Paris Hilton! Knocking off ANOTHER celebrity designer? Lowest of the low!  Time to hire a new design team Ms. Hilton, this is not the first time you've ripped off a talented designer.
