You know those mornings when you really want to wear your fav 5" heels but opt not to because there may be a few long walks throughout your day? Believe me I hate those too, but that is why I'm loving CitySlips!
CitySlips were created by two NYU fashionistas who couldn't bare giving up their sky high platforms when out on the town but knew that by 2am their feet would be begging for relief. Theyare durable and stylish flats that come in a teeny carrying case. The case fits into most handbags and maybe even a large clutch. Once you remove your flats, the pouch turns into a nifty bag so that can store your heels! Amazing, right?
Here is a picture of the a silver pair that CitySlips gave me to try:
The elastic back on the heel is super comfy and they fit pretty true to size.
They are available in black and gold too and are only $25.
5 reasons why I'm loving CitySlips:
You can wear them when taking public transportation and still have a place to carry your heels
The itty-bitty size of the carrying case means you can take them everywhere and anywhere
They FOLD! How many pairs of shoes do you own that can do that?
Now you won't be tempted to walk barefoot after 2am just because your feet are in so much pain
Overall they are functional yet oh-so stylish
I think I'm going to keep mine at work for when we take walks to get lunch or grab Starbucks. Might have to get another pair for my nights out too!
Also, since it's wedding season, wouldn't these make great bridal party gifts? You know your bridesmaids' feet will be killing towards the end of the night- How fab would it be if they could slip on a pair of stylish metallic CitySlips, have a bag to put their heels, and then dance the night away? I'm seriously loving this idea!
I love using accessories, especially shoes, to dress up an outfit. As you know from my previous post, I went to the Revolve & JUMP footwear launch party last night. Since I knew I was going to head over right after work, I decided to bring a change of shoes and some accessories to spice up my evening outfit. Also, I found this fab printed dress this weekend and have been dying to wear it...
I don't know about you, but I love when I spot a great piece at Forever 21 that just works so perfectly. Frugal finds are seriously my favorite. The print is fab and really makes the dress look a lot more than $13! Yup, that's right- $13 dress... go get it before it's gone! Since we are still having some July gloom I thought a cardigan would be a nice touch and I grabbed my Foley & Corinna bag because it hasn't seen the light of day in awhile.
Last night I attended Revolve Clothing's launch party for JUMP footwear with Taboo from Black Eyed Peas. It was a great event and the shoes are hot!
Taboo debuting his JUMP collaborations
About the Brand: JUMP became hugely popular in the 80s designing sneakers that satisfied the explosive demand for Western fashion. Its success soon expanded to Hong Kong and China becoming one of Asia’s most talked about brands with celebrities enthralled by its styling and the industry fascinated by its unorthodox but highly successful business model.
In 2007, JUMP arrived at 89 Spring St. in New York City with its stylish flagship store in the heart of SoHo. It is here that JUMP introduced JUMP SNEAKER DELUXE, homage to its beginnings as a sneaker brand. Its neo-luxe design is the definitive convergence of high-end street and daring luxury.
Trunk full of JUMP
JUMP's style reminds me of a contemporary Sperry Topsider and Timberland mix. The leathers are luxe and the color combos are very unique but really work!
Taboo said it was a dream come true to do a sneakers collaboration because he has always been a huge footwear fan and now owns over 800 pairs of shoes!
Taboo X Jump Collaboration on the Zeto Sneaker
The details definitely make the shoe! Great laces, zippers, and a mix of leathers.
I love perusing the electronic pages of Net-A-Porter's weekly magazine. From the outfit inspirations to the perfectly shot editorials- it just makes me happy! In this week's mag the chic online designer mega-store suggests that if we buy anything this week, it should be FABULOUS FLATS!
It's all about sleek flats to create an effortless Parisian style. Unfortunately $300 flats are not in the budget right now, but fortunately I found some great finds for the budget conscious shopper:
MUSK Jewel Bow Flats for $55 @ TopShop
So girly and cute!
Vixen Chain Toe Flat for $50 @ Topshop
The chain detail keeps it funky and fun.
Me Too Lilyana Flat for $54 @ DSW
You know my affinity for bow and flower details.
Kelcey Patent Tortoise Ballet Flat for $138 @ J. Crew
Everyone needs a little tortoise in their life!!
I'm also seriously hearting neutrals right now and these all fit the bill.
In case you haven't been paying attention, MTV's The Hills is officially over and last night was the Series Finale Party. When I was looking through Whitney Port's pics from the event, I thought Lauren Conrad's shoes looked very familiar! But knowing these "familiar" shoes retail for less than $100, I decided it couldn't really be true. Guess what? I was right! Conrad wore the 'Fawson' from Aldo and she looked spectacular:
Waking up to sunshine always puts me in a fabulous mood. Last Saturday was one of those days! On the plate for the day was running a few errands and having a sleepover with my little sister. I figured it was a perfect day for my favorite Wildfox tee and a truly summery outfit:
Wildfox Tee paired with my homemade cut-off jean shorts, brown belt, and my oh so favorite go-to flower sandals.
Love these sandals because they are basic but have a little bit of flair!
My adorable little sister and me!
