Yesterday I wore my Sam Edelman 'Gigi' sandals and it reminded me how perfect they are for summer! Every shoe lover needs a basic sandal that will go with almost everything in their summer wardrobe and 'Gigi' is the one. Last summer it was all about bold colors but for SS '11 it's back to the basics with neutrals and other classic hues:
What's your favorite color? I think I need the leopard pair in my life. After all it is leopard!! In general the style is very comfortable and fits true to size. Can't wait to get my hands on another pair. Cheers to summer!
Back in LA and feeling refreshed. I missed home but it was definitely nice to get away for the week. While I was gone LA Times featured me in the Reader Photo of the Week. Yay!! Here are a few pics from my Mexico Vacation:
Sister Sandal Pic
Lighthouse in the San Pedro Port as we sailed away! When we left last Saturday the weather was 80+ degrees. I couldn't imagine a better way to start a cruise vacation.
Two of many tropical drinks consumed over the 7 day cruise
Ocean decor on the ship
Dinner pic- the iphone camera does not do this dress justice. It has a lot of pleating and pocket details that I just love!
Napkin rose made by our fabulous dinner server
In Cabo San Lucas I went parasailing with two of my siblings. It's not nearly as scary as my face makes it look- promise.
We had gloomy weather on the last day of the trip so my sister and I decided to play Jenga. Jenga on a moving ship brings the game to a whole other level!
A few years ago I had a mini love affair with espadrilles - I bought the cutest pair from J. Crew, wore them for a summer and that was that. After sitting in my shoe closet for 2 years, I'm happy to bring them out again! Here are a few of my favorites for this season:
As usual I procrastinated on packing - it's probably my least favorite part of going on vaca. Thank goodness for me, a 7 day Mexico Cruise really only requires a couple things: dinner outfits, bikinis and shoes!!
I went for bright silk tops and dresses for dinner looks. Lots of citrus and nude shades ended up in my suitcase (shoes & clothes). Nothing makes me feel more tan than bright colors contrasting on my newly sun-kissed skin.
Can't really go on a cruise without bikinis!! Yes, I brought 6 but I'm a big fan of mixing and matching tops/bottoms. There is a method to my packing madness.
And the shoes... 10 pairs for 7 days. It only seems right! This is actually pretty good for me. Once I brought 14 but I've gotten a lot better.
Saturday I helped out at Lucky Shops LA and I rocked my Sole Society shoes for 8 hours straight!
Check out my look below:
In case you haven't realized, jeans with fabulous footwear is kind of my "uniform". I'm trying to incorporate more color into my life, so I opted for a bright pink silk top from Zara to go with my blue denim and nude Kalypso heels. I was so excited when my April SS shoes were delivered because they are a tad bit darker in person and the color is absolutely marvelous. Perfect for spring! My favorite part about the Kalypso is the zip-up tassel detail. Not to mention that they are super comfy. Can you tell I like them?
Between Lucky Shops LA, a friend's birthday party, and a Blackboard Eats event, my weekend was fantastically jam packed. That's probably why it went by sooo fast! Here are a few snapshots:
Friday night I did a little shopping and dinner at The Grove. Spotted these incredible Jimmy Choo wedges at Nordstrom.
Saturday I spent the day at Lucky Shops LA working in our Hautelook & Sole Society room. Loved this note on the chalkboard outside!
Before heading out to my friend's birthday on Saturday evening, the boy and I grabbed dinner at Robata Bar. The yellowtail over crispy rice was delectable. They also have the best ginger lychee mojitos!
Sunday morning the girls and I got together for manicures and mimosas at Bellacures in Brentwood. Such a fabulous way to start a Sunday!
Last week I posted a cute pair of bow sandals and guess what?! They are featured in Nordstrom's April catalog. The brand is DV by Dolce Vita and I must say that I'm absolutely impressed with the their spring styles. Very on trend, well made, and oh-so chic. Plus, with most styles under $100, the prices are fantastic!
Two other pairs were also including in the Nordstrom catalog. Check out all the shots:
