Spring Forward

The weather was quite beautiful a couple weekends ago and I felt like bringing out this easy breezy dress...

{ LAmade dress c/o // gap hat - similar style // madewell bow ring // gorjana alphabet ring // j. crew clutch - another polka dot bag I <3 // pour la victoire wedges - similar style}

How cutesy is the peek-a-boo back? It's also beyond soft and super comfy - definitely a Spring break cruise essential!

Guess what? LAmade is offering Pursuit readers 20% off their goodies with code PURSUIT20. I'm obsessing over the lace inset shirts and dresses + the bright yellow blazer. Eek!

Can you tell I'm totally ready for Spring?!

{Video} February Shoe Haul

I promised myself I wouldn't buy too many pairs of shoes this month. Yeah, it didn't work out too well! The upside is that I bought enough to create a fun Spring Shoe Haul video for you:

A Spring in My Step

Can you feel it? Spring is upon us! The weather is slowly warming up and I'm beyond ready for some new shoes. In anticipation for Spring dressing, I scooped up these Zara beauties...

It's safe to say that Zara is taking over my wardrobe from head to toe. When I saw these sandals I knew they had to be mine and they will certainly be in heavy rotation come warmer temps.

Stay tuned for a fun video later this week. I'll be sharing my February shoe buys that are all perf for Spring!

One of a Kind Style

What makes your style unique? When Dr Pepper asked me to participate in their One of a Kind campaign I got a little giddy inside for two reason: 1) Man Repeller  did a super cutesy video for them and 2) One of my favorite things about fashion and blogging is everyone's individual style. So, what makes my style unique?

In case you haven't noticed, I have a little bit of a shoe obsessions. I like to think I make shoes the leading ladies of my style!
{a few of the heels in my growing collection}

When I see a shoe I absolutely love, it literally takes my breath away. I compare it to the moment in Confessions of a Shopaholic when the mannequins convince Rebecca Bloomwood that she can't live without the green scarf. Something just comes over me and I am convinced that I can't live without the shoe.  Call it what you want to call it, but my love for shoes really sits in the driver seat in my car of fashion. They inspire me to try new looks and share them with you on Pursuit!  Everyone has their one of kind style and mine is definitely rooted in the power of shoes. Let's be honest, it feels fabulous slipping on a new pair of heels and wearing them for the first time!

Make sure to check back in to Pursuit  on March 5th for deets on Diet Dr Pepper's One of a Kind Sweepstakes. You'll have a chance to win one of
thirty amazing one–of-a-kind prizes. Believe me, they are pretty awesome!

With delicious one of a kind taste and zero calories, Diet Dr Pepper is as unique as you are. We know it's a long road to get to who we're meant to be. Along the way, we make choices, we make mistakes, we get up, and we keep going. And like an amazing work of art, we become one of a kind. At Dr Pepper, we celebrate all that makes us an original, from your unique style to adventurous spirit. To check out more one of a kind stories, watch our films at www.youtube.com/drpeppervideos.

Peplum + Lace

Yesterday was a pretty exciting day! My friend Shauna Miller of Penny Chic launched her LBD collection for Walmart and Glamour featured the 5 amazing dresses, including 'The Skater' which is modeled by yours truly. It's such a cutesy dress and, of course, I love the neon pink heels we paired with it. Make sure to check out the other styles!

Other fun news to report: next week (2.27) I'll be joining He from Fashion by He, Allie from Allie Wears, and Katy from SugarLaws for our first Fashion Blogger Google+ Hangout! We're going to chat all things fashion and blogging + answering any questions you have for us. Submit them in the comments section below or to He!

Now back to our regular scheduled programming! Peplum skirts are kind of magical; they are a great way to add faux curves for us petite girls but also accentuate the sexy shape of those who are more bootylicious.

{zara lace top - similar here & here // zara peplum skirt - similar here & here // gap cheetah print belt // c. wonder tassel clutch // mnologie personalized cuff c/o // zara basic sandals - similar here}

My fave combo: black & white with a pop of color and a touch of animal print. I honestly could wear it everyday, all day... maybe swap in a chambray shirt every once in awhile!

Black & White Stripes

I can never get enough of casual stripes...

{lna dress - similar here & here // marc by marc jacobs 'classic q' bag // michael kors sunnies // j. crew necklace // vince camuto booties (on sale!)}

I pretty much wear these booties on the reg because they're beyond comfy. My trick to easing into Spring is pairing them with denim cut-offs or dresses so you can bare your legs but still keep your feetsies warm. Now, if only LA weather could pick a season and stick to it for a couple weeks!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day, Shoe Lovers!

Sadly, I won't be donning my Valentine's Day dress because the boy is out of town, but I will be enjoying some wine and pizza with the girls tonight. Hope you have a LOVED day! xoxo

The Roll Up Roundup

Apparently this season's denim styles are all about "the roll up!" When I started seeing the roll up trend EVERYWHERE it made me smile a bit inside because I'm a HUGE fan of this way of styling denim. To be honest, I started rolling my denim in college mostly because I'm short and often didn't have time to tailor my pants. However, it's pretty much become my go-to way of sporting denim and it's really hard for me to walk out of the house without a little roll action! Here's a quick roll up roundup from recent outfit posts:

{red suede shoes // all black everything // citrus hues // polka dot it up}
{charles david // sunday sunset // california casual // leather shoulders & jimmy choo}

Another reason I'm a big fan of the roll up is because it really shows off the ankle and shoes; the best part of the outfit, obvi!

New York Fashion Week in 36 Hours

If you follow me on twitter or instagram then you probably saw that I just returned from a 36 hour trip to NY for Fashion Week! My trip was originally a bit longer but was cut down because of the blizzard. Honestly, I'm just happy I actually got there!

I was running around like a crazy lady and didn't even get to snap a pic of my outfit at Lincoln Center, but thankfully I spotted this lovely on Nordstrom's Blog late last night! It made me blush a little.

The main reason for my trip was the HauteLook x Trina Turk NYFW event. HauteLook hosted an amazing dinner at the Hotel Americano celebrating Trina Turk and her Fall 2013 Presentation! It was an evening of incredible food and great company and I was so honored to dine with Trina, Blair of Atlantic Pacific, Kim of Eat.Sleep.Wear, Jenni of I Spy DIY, Hallie of Corals & Cognacs, Lindsey of Saucy Glossie, The Glitter Guide, The Glam Network and many more. Here are a few snaps from dinner, including Brooklyn Blonde's incredible Valentinos:

Want to catch the rest of the NYFW shows?  Catch 'em live streaming on Glam.com!

Until next Fashion Week...

Get Your Glamour On: Wearable Red Carpet Styles

Award season is in full swing and what's better than scouting out all the red carpet styles? Honestly, I feel like half the time I just watch the red carpet portions of the show to see what everyone is wearing and don't tune in for the actual award show!

Mazda has asked me to share a few of my favorite red carpet styles that are totally wearable off the red carpet. Like Mazda's new CX-9, these lovelies are artfully crafted yet utilitarian. In other words, designed to be practical but still so pretty!

Jessica Alba's dress was all about the color! It's so easy to translate this look into real life just by scooping up a great coral hued number. Whether you go mod or super sexy, the color itself is so wearable and compliments most skin tons. It's a practical color for everyone just like Mazda's new CX-9 body is a artfully crafted, yet practical car for everyone!

You can't miss the plunging neckline on Taylor's swift white stunner! We can't all walk around exposing our chests in a floor length gown, but you can capture the essence of the look with a great low cut piece. I'm actually loving the bottom white bodysuit options because, like the Mazda CX-9, they are versatile and practical. Think of all the ways you can style them: peplum skirts, pencil skirts, denim, trousers - the list goes on.

For the SAG awards, Jennifer Lawrence rocked a classic navy number with a layering twist. This is such an easy look to take off the red carpet and bring into your daily style. I love the idea of grabbing a navy strapless cocktail dress with peplum or lace details. It's such a sophisticated, yet fun style similar to the newly engineered Mazda CX-9! This dress style definitely calls for fab accessories and some amazing shoes. When doesn't an outfit call for amazing shoes!?

What are some of your fave red carpet looks so far? Can't wait to see what the stars break out for the Oscars!

Find out more about the new Mazda CX-9:
For an incredible world, you need an improbable vehicle. So we engineered the new 2013 Mazda CX-9 to surpass your expectations with sophisticated styling and an equally refined, well-appointed seven-passenger interior. Yet it doesn’t compromise on the versatility you need, with ample cargo room and advanced technology like standard Bluetooth phone and audio capability. Explore possibility beyond probability with the Mazda CX-9.

LBD Style: Vegas Baby

Today's the last day of the LBD x The Stylist LA looks so why not go out with a bang... or rather a LITTLE black dress!

 I usually hit Vegas a few times a year and always want a hot dress or two to wear out. It's one of those places where it's okay to step out of your comfort zone and let loose a bit... it's Vegas baby! Let's call a spade a spade- you probably won't wear your "Vegas dress" ever again so why not just borrow it? This Naven dress does not disappoint:

{naven vixen dress w/ circle skirt  - borrow for $60 // c. wonder tassel clutch // victoria's secret heels}

The name of this dress pretty much sums it up: vixen! I mean the cutouts, plunging neckline, and circle skirt are just hot, hot, hot. I went very minimal with jewelry and added a bold clutch to give it a pop of color. I think the closed-toed heel with the mesh detail reveals just enough to bring this look together. A single sole pump is the way to go with this dress or else you'll start looking like a lady of the night! Spending over $280 for this baby? Ya, not happening. $60 to borrow for one wild night in Vegas? Done & done.

Make sure to check out the first three looks in the LBD x The Stylist LA series: Birthday Girl, Valentine's Day and Guest Of! You can borrow all four dresses for less than buying one... yes, please!!

LBD Style: Guest Of...

The LBD x The Stylist LA looks continue and this is the girliest dress yet! Wedding season is just around the corner and if you're like me, you'll want a new dress for the 5 millions weddings you have to attend. Sadly, a calendar full of weddings calls for tons of weddings gifts and other expenses which leaves little for a handful of new dresses. Why buy when you can borrow this Paper Crown beauty?

{paper crown jasper dress - borrow for $60 // t+j designs chain bracelet and necklace // f21 rhinestone bracelet // kate spade bow ring - similar here // zara basic sandals - similar here, here, & here}

It feels very Carrie SATC, right? You can't go wrong with a black cocktail dress for most weddings and this one is the perfect mix of cute & glam. I'm such a big fan but it's definitely a memorable dress, especially with all those weddings pics, that spending $341 to buy it seems a bit out of the question. Borrow for $60? Yes, please! I added a gold belt to really accentuate the waist and some of my signature gold jewels.  Zara's basic sandals were seriously one of my best shoe purchases and they are my go-to wedding shoe because I can dance in them for hours!

Stay tuned for the last look of the LBD x The Stylist LA series coming tomorrow. It's kind of sizzling...
